90 Retired Generals & Admirals Call for Immediate Resignation associated with Gen. Milley & Outl Sec. Austin

“There must be accountability at all levels for this heartbreaking and avoidable debacle, inch the letter states.

Almost 90 retired generals and admirals signed a notice demanding the immediate resignations of Chairman of the Shared Chiefs of Staff Gen. Mark Milley and Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin tx over their roles within the disastrous withdrawal from Afghanistan.

“ The retired Flag Officials signing this letter are usually calling for the resignation and retirement of the Secretary of Defense (SECDEF) and the Chief of the Joint Chiefs of Staff (CJCS) based on carelessness in performing their responsibilities primarily involving events around the disastrous withdrawal from Afghanistan, ” the letter states.

“ The hasty retreat leaves initial estimates at ~15, 000 Americans stranded in dangerous areas controlled by a brutal enemy along with ~25, 000 Afghan citizens whom supported American forces. ”

The letter claimed resignations from Milley and Austin were the only proper responses to a rash and dangerous withdrawal operation.

“ Since principal military advisors to the CINC/President, the SECDEF and CJCS should have recommended from this dangerous withdrawal in the strongest possible terms. If they did not do everything within their specialist to stop the hasty drawback, they should resign, ” the particular letter stated.

“ Conversely, if they do do everything within their ability to persuade the CINC/President not to hastily exit the country without having ensuring the safety of our citizens and Afghans devoted to America, then they must have resigned in protest as a matter of conscience plus public statement. ”

The letter went on to describe the “ enormous” consequences of Biden’s unmitigated withdrawal disaster, including the desertion of billions of dollars associated with U. S. military weaponry and equipment which the Taliban quickly seized.

“ The consequences of this devastation are enormous and will reverberate for decades beginning with the safety of Americans and Afghans who are unable to move properly to evacuation points; therefore , being de facto hostages of the Taliban at this time. The death and torture associated with Afghans has already begun and can result in a human tragedy associated with major proportions. The loss of vast amounts of dollars in advanced military equipment and supplies falling into the hands of our foes is catastrophic. The damage towards the reputation of the United States is indescribable. We are now seen, and will be seen for many years, as an difficult to rely on partner in any multinational contract or operation. Trust in the us is irreparably damaged. ”

“ Moreover, now our adversaries are usually emboldened to move against America due to the weakness displayed within Afghanistan. China benefits probably the most followed by Russia, Pakistan, Serbia, North Korea and others. Terrorists around the world are emboldened plus able to pass freely into our country through our own open border with Mexico. ”

The letter even lambasted Milley and Austin for prioritizing “ wokeness” over adequate military training and preparedness.

“ In interviews, congressional testimony, and public statements it has turn out to be clear that top market leaders in our military are putting mandatory emphasis on PC ‘ wokeness’ related training which is extremely divisive and damaging to unit cohesion, readiness, and war fighting capability. The military exists to combat and win our Country’s wars and that must be the sole focus of our top military leaders. ”

“ For these reasons we ask the SECDEF Austin and the CJCS General Milley to resign. A fundamental principle in the military is holding these in charge responsible and responsible for their actions or inactions. There must be accountability at all amounts for this tragic and preventable debacle. ”
