Sen. Rand Paul: Biden Transformed Distribution of Antibody Treatment ‘For Political Reasons’
Biden’s choice to withhold antibody therapy to states like Texas and Florida purely political, as is usually the case under socialized medicine.
Senator Rand Paul (R-Ky. ) said the Biden administration’s move to control the distribution of monoclonal antibody treatments is to punish the southern part of states like Texas plus Florida is simply because they are Conservative strongholds.
On Friday’s broadcast of the Fox News Channel’s “ Hannity, ” Paul said Biden seized control of the particular antibody treatments “ intended for political reasons, ” the hallmark of “ socialized medicine. ”
“ Realize this is the distinction between socialized medicine and capitalism. Under capitalism, when there’s increased demand – and Florida has increased need right now – you increase the supply, ” Paul said.
“ Provide matches demand in capitalism. In socialism, you have politics reasons. So , it could be that these people think there are more deplorable people in Florida, more Republicans or more of the unvaccinated unwashed. ”
“ And so, decisions will be made for political reasons. In case this were capitalism and this were going out into the marketplace, the companies would be ramping up production and it would be dispersed where it’s needed, ” he added.
Health and Human Services (HHS) announced Wednesday that the Biden administration will dictate the particular “ equitable distribution” associated with monoclonal antibodies rather than allow free market determine in which the treatment is needed.
“ HHS can determine the amount of product each state and territory gets on a every week basis. State and territorial health departments will subsequently identify sites that will obtain product and how much, ” the HHS spokesperson said .
“ This system can help maintain fair distribution , both geographically and temporally, across the country – providing states and areas with consistent, fairly-distributed supply over the coming weeks. ”
The majority of remedies were going to Florida and Texas, who are facing a spike in COVID cases, but the HHS has reduced the inflow by at least 50%.
Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis belittled Biden’s decision to ration treatments in his state, especially given he recently pledged to INCREASE antibody treatment provide by 50%.
“ This is a dramatic reduction, ” DeSantis said Thurs at a Fort Lauderdale press conference. “ We are dealing with a massive cut in antibody treatments. Abruptly. ”
“ We’ve been thrown a major curveball here having a really huge cut, ” DeSantis continued. “ We’ll make sure we leave no stone unturned. Whoever needs a treatment, we’re going to work like hell to get them the therapy. ”
Republican Senator James Risch required Tuesday to know who is in charge of cutting away from Joe Biden’s microphone whenever he goes off script , as has been witnessed many times over the past few months.
