NEW YORK Gov. Hochul Says Nationwide Guard May Replace Unvaccinated Healthcare Workers

Tens of thousands of healthcare workers still haven’t taken required COVID jab which is needed by Monday.

New York Governor Kathy Hochul (D) announced she may touch the National Guard in order to fill hospital staffing shortages brought on by unvaccinated workers who seem to won’t meet the Monday deadline to receive the injection.

In a bid to put the pressure on healthcare workers who don’t have taken the jab, Hochul released a statement Saturday outlining how she might declare a state of crisis to replace them with out-of-state medical workers and medically-trained Nationwide Guard members to keep hospitals properly staffed.

“ We are still inside a battle against COVID to protect our loved ones, and we need to fight with every tool in our disposal, ”   Gov. Hochul said. “ I am monitoring the staffing requirementws situation closely, and we possess a plan to increase our health treatment workforce and help alleviate the burdens on our  hospitals and other health care amenities. ”

“ I commend all of the healthcare workers who have stepped as much as get themselves vaccinated, and I urge all remaining medical care workers who are unvaccinated to do so now so they can continue giving care, ” she additional.

About 16% of the state’s 450, 500 hospital staff – roughly 70, 000 workers – have still not obtained the COVID jab, the particular governor’s office said.

Thousands of New Yorkers have been protesting the COVID vaccine mandate since it was imposed earlier this month.

Despite the media narrative that hospitals are usually overwhelmed due to worker disadvantages, hospitals plus medical centers are however preparing to lay off a large number of workers which do not want or require the COVID injection.
