GOP Prosecutor Threatens Felony Arrest Against Truckers Protesting Shot Mandates

A GOP prosecutor has threatened in order to charge truck drivers with felonies if they shut down the Cincinnati, Ohio, highway in protest of employer vaccine mandates.

Hamilton Co. Prosecutor Joseph Deters was unusually demanding in his warning, especially considering the fact that Black Lives Matter activists shut down highways nationwide last year, the majority of whom were never charged with a misdemeanor, much less a felony.

“ I want to be perfectly clear. Anyone who attempts in order to shut down the highways in Hamilton County will be removed from their vehicles, charged along with felony Disrupting Public Providers, and they will go to jail, ” Deters stated . “ To those whom claim to be supportive of law enforcement – law enforcement is just not with you. This would pose a serious danger for our first responders and the community at large. ”

The statement appeared on the prosecutor’s web site on Saturday.

No such statement is available from May 2020 whenever BLM protesters shut down Interstate 75 , although Deters did speak out towards “ looting and rioting” that happened during associated protests.

Deters’ office prosecuted at least 14 protesters in connection to those protests, even though, according to a news article, none of them were charged within connection to shutting down a highway.

In those instances, the fees revolved around vandalism and assaulting police officers.

It’s curious as to why Deters’ office didn’t seem as concerned about highway shutdowns throughout BLM protests.

Even if his hands had been tied politically, Deters could have still issued a caution against protesters walking upon highways to block visitors.
