Tx & Florida Governors Bypass Biden, Purchase Lifesaving Antibody Treatment For Covid
The Biden administration desires more Covid deaths
Republican Texas Governor Greg Abbott and Republican California Governor Ron DeSantis have got both decided to purchase monoclonal antibody treatments directly from a supplier after the Biden management began rationing doses previously this month.
With seven southern states purchasing 70% from the antibodies being sold nationwide, the administration claimed there was the shortage and told the red states their discuss of the treatment would be restricted going ahead.
Many suspect the move to be a political one as the announcement came at a time when the seven states buying the most of the doses had been experiencing a drop in cases .
When it’s administered within ten days of the initial infection, the treatment is able to reduce the need to hospitalize a COVID patient by 70 percent, according to medical experts .
Due to the lifesaving capabilities, Florida Governor Ron DeSantis announced Thursday that the state is purchasing three thousand doses of the new brand of antibody treatment called Sotrovimab, which is marketed under the brand name Xevudy.
Despite the state government’s purchase, DeSantis says several treatment sites may have to shut and many locations will be restricted in supply.
The acquisition of antibody remedies comes just a week right after Florida’s brand new Surgeon General declared “ vaccination is certainly not” the only way to treat or even prevent Covid.
Reporter Bob Garrett, Austin tx Bureau chief for The Dallas Early morning News , revealed upon Monday that Texas Chief excutive Greg Abbott is following Florida’s lead.
Garrett wrote, “ Greg Abbott says Texas provides obtained its own supply of Regeneron, despite roadblocks from Biden administration, from drug wholesaler AmerisourceBergen. State purchasing straight, Abbott tells @DLoesch . ‘ Consider this treatment, ‘ he tells people testing + intended for #COVID19 . ”
