Border Patrol agents have discovered nearly 2 dozen illegal aliens within water drainage systems within multiple Texas cities in recent days, according to reports.
Migrants were caught relocating through sewers in Hidalgo and Brownsville this week, and several were pulled through manholes onto the street.
“ NOT TOO SECRET passages uncovered in two south Texas towns, ” Rio Grande Valley Chief Patrol Agent John Hastings tweeted on Wednesday.
“ Smugglers continue to use harmful tactics to move migrants over the border. ”
Customs and Border Protection (CBP) says agents discovered footprints resulting in a drainage pipe within Brownsville on Tuesday.
“ The Brownsville Fire Division was requested and taken care of immediately assist. Three migrants had been apprehended as they exited the drainage system, ” CBP explained in a statement .
The next day, providers from McAllen Border Patrol Station were informed about “ suspected migrants crossing the drainage system in Hidalgo. ”
