“If they don’t answer within the five minutes that is when health ministers come knocking. “
In a move that again highlights how far toward a complete tyranny Australia has become in the wake of COVID, citizens are being mandated to offer geo-trackable selfies to police to prove they are staying at home.
A written report from 9 News nationwide details how people within Victoria are now required to respond to the authorities within 5 mins of them randomly calling simply by sending a selfie associated with themselves at home. If they are not able to respond, health goons are usually sent to their address to dish out punishments.
The reporter notes “ Today the call has gone in order to everyone in home quarantine in Victoria to take part in a pilot program. And what which means is they will receive random phone calls and they will have to solution within five minutes with a selfie sent to an app that will then geo-track where that individual is and to make sure they are that they say they are as well. ”
“ When they don’t answer within the five minutes that’s when health ministers come knocking, ” the particular reporter creepily adds.
Watch:
Reuters reported on the scheme earlier this month, noting that it can be being trialled in “ New South Wales (NSW) and Victoria, home to Sydney, Melbourne and more than half of Australia’s 25 million population. ”
The technologies involved uses facial identification, but health authorities possess refused to comment on the scheme.
Reuters notes that “ Underneath the system being trialled, people respond to random check-in requests by taking a ‘ selfie’ at their designated home quarantine address. If the software program, which also collects location data, does not verify the image against a “ face signature”, police may contact a visit to the location to confirm the person’s whereabouts. ”
It is something that was once suggested for use in Britain , but was ruin over fears of privacy invasion.
