American soldiers in Texas are being menaced by heavily-armed cartel thugs positioned along the Rio Grande, according to reports.
Images provided to Fox News correspondent Expenses Melugin by the Texas Section of Public Safety seem to depict men wearing body armor and carrying guns standing in battle-ready positions in the Mexican side of the lake.
“ In multiple situations over the past several days, Texas DPS tells me suspected association gunmen involved in human smuggling have stood in & near the Rio Grande in Starr County and taunted TX National Guard soldiers. They wear tac vests & have AK47s, ” Melugin wrote on social networking on Wednesday.
Melugin was lately forced to abruptly end a video report at the border whenever gunfire erupted near his location.
National Border Patrol Council President Brandon Judd was asked to address the pictures during an interview upon Fox and Friends upon Thursday morning.
“ These images are disturbing, and am hope that they disturbed the viewers at home, but in order to law enforcement like myself, difficult surprising, ” Judd stated. “ My agents and am understand that these cartels are in it for a profit. These people understand exactly what’s going on with politics here in the United States. ”
“ They understand the mood of the American public, and so they understand that with the Defund the authorities movement, with all of the talk about removing law enforcement and vilifying law enforcement, that they’ve been emboldened. These people know that they can get away with things that otherwise they would have never been able to get away along with. ”
Border Patrol brokers have been focused by photographers in Mexico on a lot of occasions so far this year.
