Energy Crisis May Unleash Winter season Blackouts Across US, Insider Warns

“Whole supply chain is stretched beyond its limits”

The energy turmoil that is rippling through  Asia and Europe   could unleash electricity shortages and blackouts within the U. S., according to  Bloomberg .

Ernie Thrasher, CEO  of Xcoal Energy & Resources LLC., told energy research company IHS Markit that Oughout. S. utilities quickly turn to more coal because of rising natural gas prices.

“ We’ve actually had discussions with strength utilities who are concerned which they simply will have to  implement blackouts this wintertime , ”   Thrasher warned.

This individual said, “ They  don’t see where the energy is coming from to meet requirement , ” adding that  23% of utilities are switching away from gas this fall/winter to burn more coal.

With natgas, coal, plus oil prices all increasing is a clear signal the particular green energy transition will  take decades, not years . Walking back again fossil fuels for unreliable clean energy has been a disaster in Asia and Europe. These power-hungry continents are  scrambling   for fossil fuel supplies because stockpiles are well below in season trends ahead of cooler weather.

An identical story is playing out in the U. S., where increased demand for fossil fuel might not be reached by mining companies. We  mentioned   Thursday early morning that boosting output may be challenging due to years of decommissioning mines to reduce carbon emissions and transition the economic climate from fossil fuels to eco-friendly energy. There’s also been a stable decline of miners over the last three and a half decades.

“ That will whole supply chain is stretched beyond its limitations, ”   Thrasher stated.   “ It’s going to be a challenging winter for us within the United States. ”

Utility company Duke Power Corp. ‘s Piedmont Gas unit, covering North and South Carolina customers, warned power bills this winter are set to rise due to higher natgas prices and low production.

A pure-play coal company that is already benefiting from the demand surge  and rising prices is Peabody Energy Corporation. As cooler weather conditions fast approaches, the company could see increased demand for its heat coal that utility companies use to produce electricity. On a technical basis, a alleged bullish “ golden cross” was just triggered.

The bothered green energy transition provides the fossil fuel industry new hope, especially  “ Making Coal Great Again. ”
