Brand new Uaviolent ‘Slap A Teacher’ Craze Exposes Failings In Tiktok’s Efforts To Prohibit Traumatic Videos Among Impressionable Teens

Violent assault videos are being recklessly shared among TikTok’s one billion customers.

Violent approaches against defenseless victims captured on smartphones and contributed online for amusement are no new thing, so just why has TikTok not was able to come to terms with preventing these unacceptable and grossly offensive videos?

With this age of quantum leaps within technology and seemingly unlimited possibilities about what we can do with our smartphones nothing is actually that novel. So , whilst disturbing, it’s not surprising to get a new craze of chaotic assault videos being carelessly shared among TikTok’s 1 billion users.

The latest ‘ slap the teacher’ craze that has strike the US is really just a modern variation on a new system of the teenage girl  ‘ p***y slapping’   that emerged in Australia four years ago and the uaviolent  ‘ happy slapping’   that started in the UK in the early 2000s which begs the question: exactly why is this still going on?

While many teens probably imagine their schoolteacher is a valid target for strike, these underpaid educators are just husbands and spouses, mums and dads, littermates like anyone else. But it seems dumb-as-a-rock 18-year-old  Larianna Jackson   wasn’t bothered by that since she launched an assault on the 64-year-old woman that happened to be her English teacher at Covington High School within Louisiana, leaving the poor lady needing hospital treatment.

And while we might tut-tut and suck our teeth, comforting each other this sort of incident can never happen here, ahem, can I just remind you that it already has. And several time ago.

Because in 2004, the happy slapping craze led to the killing of Jesse Morley, 37, whose demise was filmed by then 14-year-old Chelsea Mahoney as the lady and three friends kicked and stomped on their victim until he died from a ruptured spleen.

Then in 2010, the same trend was also blamed for the demise of 67-year-old  Ekram Haque   working in london after an attack by two teenagers in front of his youthful granddaughter which they filmed prior to running away laughing.

It cannot be too large an ask to expect TikTok, now the app i jour for streaming plus sharing this nonsense, to be a bit more proactive about this brand new phase of randomly chaotic videos and if they decline, then let’s do something about it.

Because upon no level is this enjoyment. Like happy slapping just before it, this latest craze has the same modus operandi – a vicious unprovoked assault on an unsuspecting plus defenceless victim is captured by accomplices on a smart phone camera and shared with the rest of the world via the internet – to get laughs.

While they might attempt to shift the blame, we must keep TikTok to account. Every time a video of a  sucide   proceeded to go viral, the sharing program blamed a coordinated attack from the ‘ dark web’ for spreading the traumatising clip. When accused associated with spreading content that  glamorised   consuming disorders like  bulimia and anorexia , this issued an anodyne statement claiming the safety of its users was its main concern. And when it was found to be used by  Islamic Condition terrorists   to share propaganda, the PR department announced,   “ Content promoting terrorist companies has absolutely no place on TikTok. ”

TikTok makes all the right sounds when it’s called out on problems but it needs to do more in preventing them from happening in the first place. It’s simply no use taking a video lower once it’s been viewed many million times. The damage is done. User data has already been collected and, of course , the money currently made.

When Bytedance is to be allowed to function within a nation’s borders producing billions in the process with only a hint of taxes extracted, then it needs to be more responsible, not just in financial terms but in the realm of social responsibility.

We all can’t have massive, foreign-owned corporations disseminating uaviolent video clips among our youngsters, responsible to no one but them selves and left to law enforcement their own behaviour. It’s just a bonkers idea to also think that is acceptable.

So let’s split down on TikTok. Let’s hammer them with hefty fines for every video that promotes attack, terrorism, pornography, eating disorders and even suicide and keep working them until they receive the message and take precautionary steps.

It makes no difference to me in the event that TikTok is available in the UK, when they feel the heat’s an excessive amount of and simply up sticks and off, then so be it. That’s something I’d gladly video, apply some snazzy filters and share with all my buddies. Even if I don’t have that many.
