Previous NYT Writer Bari Weiss Confronts Brian Stelter More than CNN’s Covid Lab Drip Coverage, Hunter Biden Notebook & More

‘When you’re not able to say aloud and in public there are distinctions between men and women, the world has gone mad. ‘

CNN got a dose of common sense from former New York Times writer Bari Weiss Thurs, who explained why the girl, like many Americans, feels “ the world has gone mad” due to the “ progressive” left’s political correctness.

“ So about what ways has the world ‘ gone mad? ‘” Reliable Sources’ Brian Stelter asked.

“ Where can I start? Properly, when you have the chief reporter for the beat of COVID for The New York Times talking about exactly how questioning or pursuing problem of the lab leak  is racist , the planet has gone mad. When you’re unable to say out loud and in community there are differences between women and men, the world has gone mad. When we’re not allowed to recognize that rioting is rioting and it is bad and that stop is not violence, but violence is violence, the world went mad, ” Weiss stated. “ When you’re not able to say the Hunter Biden notebook is a story worth seeking, the world has gone mad. Whenever, in the name of progress, young college children, as young as kindergarten, are being separated in public schools because of their race, and that is called improvement instead of segregation, the world went mad. There are dozens of examples. ”

Feigning incredulity, Stelter went on in order to ask, “ Who’s the individuals stopping the conversation? ”

“ Those who work at networks, frankly, such as the one I’m speaking upon right now, to say it was racist to investigate the lab drip theory, ” Weiss photo back.

“ Who said that with CNN? ” Stelter inquired. “ When you say ‘ allowed, ‘ it’s a attention grabbing thing to say… A person say we’re not allowed to talk about these things but they’re all over the Internet … I’ve heard about every story that you’ve mentioned. Therefore , I’m just suggesting, of course people are allowed to cover whichever they want to cover. ”

Weiss responded, “ But you and I both know that it would be delusional to declare otherwise that touching your own finger to an increasing amount of subjects that have been deemed 3rd rail by the mainstream establishments and increasingly by some of the tech companies will result in reputational damage, perhaps you losing your job, your children sometimes becoming demonized as well, so what happens is a kind of internal self-censorship. ”

Elsewhere in the interview, Weiss broke down why the NYT was right in 2020 to publish an op-ed simply by Tom Cotton calling on Leader Trump to dispatch soldiers to cities overrun by rioters and looters, which sparked a backlash amongst NYT staffers.

“ Do you believe, John, that an op-ed can literally put people’s lives in danger? ” Weiss asked.

“ Do you think that that op-ed put householder’s lives in danger? ”

“ In case 1, 000 journalists said ‘ No, it is incorrect that New York Times editors were fired over a good op-ed by a Republican senator, that’s insanity, that’s insanity, ‘” she said.

“ If one, 000 people stood upward and said that rather than one, 000 people in the case of Mary Cotton signing a notice saying their life was in danger, the whole news media will be different.

“ It’s really about people standing up, saying no to the mafia, saying yes to free speech and yes to openness to debate, plus showing that in performing that, they can not just survive the mob but also emerge on the other side of it. ”
