School Board Member Attempts to Physically Assault Parent Who seem to Called Him “Idiot”

Video shows school resource officer has to restrain board associate who gets up from chair to confront parent.

Tempers flared at an Indiana school board meeting this week where a board member got out of his chair plus attempted to lunge toward a parent who insulted him.

The particular incident took place Monday at a Shenandoah school board meeting in Middletown, where the mother or father, Jason Greer, claims the particular board member was triggered after being called an “ idiot. ”

Footage shows the board member getting up away from his chair to confront Greer who stays seated, at which point a college resource officer has to block the board member from reaching the parent.

According to Greer, who also gave a statement to local NBC affiliate WTHR , everything started when he offered a presentation demonstrating how masks create unsafe air levels for children.

“ During the board meeting I actually provided a demonstration with the oxygen meter proving that per OSHA standards our children are breathing unsafe degrees of oxygen due to the mask requirement in our school. Mr. Troxell asked a follow up question. I attempted to answer yet he was unwilling to pay attention. At which point I stated, ‘ You’re not even seeking to understand. ‘ He mentioned, ‘ I don’t wish to listen because you don’t make sense. ‘ I replied with, ‘ You’re an idiot. ‘

At which point he attempted to physically assault me but was restrained by three board members plus an officer. I was sitting this whole time and showed no aggression. Where point the officers escorted me out but allowed the aggressor to stay. This individual called me an a— — and a bastard. He then threw a temper tantrum and his papers. He attemptedto quit but the board users asked him to take a seat and stated ‘ No, we need you. ‘

The meeting continued once i was escorted out and continued to be combative and dismissive to other parents who spoke. His eyes were actually closed at one stage. ”

Greer says his wife, Brooke, seemed to be treated dismissively by Troxell, who he says called the girl “ ridiculous as she was calmly speaking trying to come up with a resolution. ”

“ People say, ‘ Go to the meetings and show your support, and let your voices be noticed, ‘” Brooke told nearby media.

“ And then you get right now there, and you’re almost bombarded by a board member, and you’re ridiculed and laughed at, and they laugh under their breath. It’s not a way that it should be handled. ”

Addressing the board member’s violent actions, Shenandoah Schools Superintendent Ron Green said the member apologized for the eruption and will also be held accountable.

“ I have talked using the school board member today, ” Green said in a statement provided to KTHR . “ He is sorry for their actions. Many, many wrongs, and one that we will take care of. He will definitely receive some thing from our school board president. But the bottom line is the school board member knows that their actions were not representative of regular membership and representing Shenandoah Universities. ”

KTHR reviews despite the outburst the school panel went on to approve an extension to a mask mandate that will last until Jan. ten, 2022.

The board member’s angry fit comes as Biden Attorney General Merrick Garland called on the FBI to beware of threats from parents against school administrators, after a letter through the National School Board Organization equated unruly parents along with “ domestic terrorists. ”

“ The Department takes these incidents seriously and is devoted to using its authority and resources to discourage these risks, identify them when they happen, and prosecute them whenever appropriate, ” Garland had written. “ In the coming days, the Department will announce a series of measures designed to tackle the rise in criminal conduct directed toward school personnel. ”
