Disney World has dropped enforcement of its COVID-19 vaccine mandate in response to Sarasota enacting restrictions on companies trying to impose them on employees.
“ As we assess the full impact of this new laws, we are immediately pausing the particular enforcement of our mandatory vaccination policy for Florida-based cast members and employees until further notice, ” an indoor company memo stated, according to The Epoch Times .
“ All pending requests by Florida-based throw members and employees for an accommodation exempting them from your company’s vaccine mandate will be considered on hold at the moment and [there] will not be evaluation. ”
“ We believe that our method of mandatory vaccines has been the right one as we have continued to focus on the safety and well-being of our Solid Members and Guests, with this point, more than 90 percent of active Florida-based Ensemble Members have already verified that they are fully vaccinated. We will tackle legal developments as suitable. ”
Governor Ron DeSantis’ (R) press secretary Christina Pushaw released a statement in response to Disney’s decision, noting really in the best interest associated with companies in Florida in order to obey the law.
“ Disney has amended its vaccination policy in order to comply with Florida law, ” she said. “ We all expect that all companies within Florida will likewise follow the law signed by Gov. DeSantis yesterday. Nobody need to lose his, or the girl, job over COVID requires. ”

DeSantis signed the restrictions straight into law in Brandon, Fl on Thursday after a push conference
“ We’re making sure that individuals have a right to earn a living, individuals have a right to have protections with their place of employment and that moms and dads have protections to be able to direct the upbringing of their kids, ” said DeSantis.
Companies could be fined up to $50, 000 when they impose vaccine mandates in violation of the new laws.
“ The laws allow employers to ask employees to become vaccinated, but also require them to allow people to opt out for spiritual, health and other reasons. People who formerly had COVID-19 would be exempt despite evidence the vaccines provide greater protection towards reinfection as well as serious cases that require hospitalization, ” Reuters reported .
“ Companies who refuse to allow the exemptions can be fined up to $50, 000 per violation. The brand new laws also ban govt entities from requiring vaccinations. Schools districts may not need vaccinations or ask educators and students to wear face masks. ”
