Video clip: Thousands of Destroyed Packages Together Railroad, As Train Cars in Los Angeles Looted

Alarming footage out of Los Angeles shows train cars in the area are being broken into plus ransacked before packages becoming transported are able to reach their own destinations.
Video posted to Twitter by CBS 2 photojournalist John Schreiber shows a large number of destroyed boxes and deals littered along a railway in Lincoln Heights, showing criminals are breaking into teach cars to pilfer merchandise.

Schreiber moves around filming some of the products tossed about: an unopened, undelivered Amazon package, clear UPS bags, Covid fast tests and fishing lures.
Now i’m told by law enforcement these @UPS bags are especially sought after by thieves opening packages containers… they are often full of boxes with merchandise bound regarding residential addresses. Being a train slowly travels along the railway, Schreiber notes one of the train car doors is certainly swung wide open, suggesting someone has broken into the area.
This particular opened package from @REI destined for Bainbridge Island, WA was taken off the train. Typing in the @UPS tracking # and it obviously lists it as “ delayed. ” We found lots of opened packages bound for the Northwest along it of tracks. pic. twitter. com/dO82QoJhTT

“ Cargo thieves have been stealing valuable products from these trains while they are either stopped or slowing down so they can be brought in to the Union Pacific Intermodal service in downtown LA, in which the cargo is moved to a new mode of transportation, ” reports the Daily Mail .
“ In order to into these containers, robbers will often use bolt blades to break the locks plus steal whatever they can get their hands on. ”
Schreiber says if anyone’s lacking a package, “ Maybe that it is among the thousands we discovered discarded along the tracks. ”

“ This is but a single area thieves have targeted trains. We were told this area was just cleansed up 30 days ago what exactly you see is all within the last 30 days, ” Schreiber reports.
In a statement handling the train burglaries, the particular Union Pacific railroad company said it would take steps in order to mitigate the crime influx, but asked for support through local law enforcement and neighborhood leaders.
“ Union Pacific is very worried about the increased cargo thefts in California, and we took several steps to address this criminal activity, ” they stated.
“ These rail crimes cause a serious safety threat towards the public, our employees and local law enforcement officers. ”
“ We have increased the number of Union Pacific cycles special agents on patrol, and we have utilized and explored additional technologies to assist us combat this legal activity. ”
“ We also will carry on and work with our local police force partners and elected market leaders. ”
Clearly emboldened criminals are taking advantage of local and state laws and regulations that have essentially sanctioned looting and shoplifting from shops, and defund police efforts that have taken cops off the streets.
At the same time, violent crime rates are rising in Los Angeles, where homicides are up simply by 94% this year.
