Anti-Abortion HQ Fire Bombed, Ransacked, Vandalized With Graffiti Amid Nationwide Protests

“It appears a certain non-profit that supports anti-abortion measures was targeted, ” said Madison Police Department Chief.

An anti-abortion group’s headquarter in Madison, Wisconsin was apparently firebombed, ransacked, and tagged with menacing threats along with graffiti late on Saturday night.

Investigators are calling the particular fire arson, claiming the Molotov cocktail was tossed inside the building but failed to ignite, but a separate fireplace was then started.

“ It appears a specific non-profit that supports anti-abortion measures was targeted, ” said Madison Police Department Chief Shon Barnes mentioned in a statement, adding that will no one was hurt in the incident.

Outside of the building, a graffitied information read, “ If abortions aren’t safe then you generally are not either. ”

“ What you’re going to notice here is a direct threat against us, ” said Wisconsin Family Action group leader Julaine Appling. “ Think about if somebody had been at the office when this happened. They would have been hurt. ”

The attack comes days after a leaked U. S. Supreme Court set up opinion revealed a majority of the Justices had agreed to overturn the 1973 Roe v. Wade ruling that legalized abortion nationwide.

Democrat Gov. Tony Evers condemned the violent strike in a statement Sunday, saying “ hurting others is definitely never the answer, ” plus urging the left to “ work against overturning Roe and attacks upon reproductive rights by leading with empathy and compassion. ”
