Flanke Paul Delays ‘Speedy Vote’ On $40 Billion Ukraine Package
This is what leadership looks like
Sen. Rand Paul (R-Ky. ) put the brakes on the Biden administration’s $40 billion Ukraine aid package on Thursday after he objected to some deal put forward by United states senate Majority Leader Charles Schumer (D-N. Y. ) and Minority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-Ky. ) that would have experienced the Senate vote to pass the motion this afternoon.
Paul blocked the votes therefore he could try to insert vocabulary into the text of the costs that would ensure an inspector general would have oversight within the spending approved in the bill.
Sen. Paul told the country, “ Our oath of office would be to the United States Constitution, not to any foreign nation. And, regardless of how sympathetic the cause, my pledge of office is to the particular national security of the United States of America. We cannot save Ukraine by dooming the US economy. ”
Donald Trump Jr. said we need more people like Rand Paul within the Senate, noting that the Military-Industrial Complex and DC reporters getting kickbacks from weaponry manufacturers were the ones upset at the stall.
The United states senate will now have to wait till next week to try and pass the bill.
The particular left, and some RINOs, had been predictably upset with Paul for staying true to their beliefs.
The left will certainly blindly support any battle as long as their candidate is within power.
