After subscribers quit, Netflix tells activist employees it’s time to support free speech

After Netflix has introduced it’s  bleeding clients , the company has began to make some changes. Netflix offers issued a warning in order to employees in its new “ Culture Memo. ” This warned employees offended simply by “ harmful” content at the platform to find work somewhere else.

The particular memo, obtained by  Variety , which signals a change in Netflix’s tradition, appears to have been triggered by repercussion over a  specific by comedian Dave Chappelle and more.   Activist Netflix employees staged a walkout over the company web hosting the special that they considered transphobic.

The brand new Culture Memo has a section titled “ Artistic Appearance, ” which says that this platform will not censor some artists and voices even though their content is deemed “ harmful. ”

“ If you’d find it hard to support the content breadth, Netflix might not be the best place for you, ” the particular memo says. It adds that employees may have to focus on the content they deem harmful and if they are not comfortable accepting this kind of tasks they should find function somewhere else.

“ Entertaining the world is an incredible opportunity and also a challenge mainly because viewers have very different preferences and points of look at. So we offer a wide variety of TV shows and movies, some of which could be provocative, ” the memo states.
