CNN Mistakenly Sent Staffers Present Boxes After Firing All of them From CNN+ Team

CNN+ shut down upon April 30 just a month after its initial start.

Ex-staffers got a punch in the face when after being fired from the month-old streaming service they received present boxes filled with CNN+  merchandise   including gear, pens, food containers, a popcorn maker, plus headphones.

The boxes furthermore included what would have been a heartwarming sentiment if not for the grim circumstances of having just been laid off.

“ This is an incredible time to participate CNN, ” the enclosed note read. “ Create relationships and take time to match colleagues and learn so that you make the most of your time here. ”

The mailed gifts were apparently sent by mistake towards the 400+ workers who were fired from CNN+, a company consultant relayed to the  Wall Street Journal .

After hiring a number of hundreds of New York-based manufacturing staff who poured within hours of work on daily programming, set design, and an investment of $300 million, Warner Bros. Discovery taken the plug on the streaming service, laying off numerous CNN staffers. Some of the workers said they had left other stable jobs and become a freelancer work for the exciting experience of what one top producer described as CNN’s “ Apollo Mission. ”

CBS TELEVISION STUDIOS journalist Wesley Lowery commented on the fallout, sharing his own career insight.
