Trump to ‘Deliver Important Address’ at NRA Convention in Wake of Texas Shooting

President Donald Trump will take the stage in the National Rifle Association’s 2022 Convention, where he says he could deliver an important address and provide solutions following Tuesday’s school shooting in Texas.
Posting in order to Truth Social Wednesday, Trump said he would keep their commitment to speak on the event Friday as the country is in dire need of solutions and leadership, not partisanship.

“ America needs real solutions and real leadership in this second, not politicians and partisanship, ” the president published.
“ That’s why I will keep our longtime commitment to talk in Texas at the NRA Convention and deliver an essential address to America. Meanwhile, we all continue to pray for that victims, their families, and for the entire nation— we are all on this together! ”
Trump’s message comes in the wake of a gruesome bulk shooting that left 21 dead at an elementary college in Uvalde, Texas.
Leftist media outlets that have been clamoring for gun control less than 24 hours after the shooting are criticizing the convention for disallowing the carry of firearms throughout the meeting to be held in Houston, Texas, May 27 through May 29 in the George R. Brown Tradition Center.
As standard practice at virtually every presidential speaking event, Key Service and TSA agents will be searching and scanning attendees with magnetometers just before entry, precautions noted simply by former NRA spokesperson Dana Loesch in 2018.

Additionally , weapon parts and firearms accessories, knives, ammunition, laser ideas, pepper spray, toy weapons, backpacks, and “ weapons of any kind” will also be prohibited in the event .
Other prominent members of the GOP, which includes Sen. Ted Cruz (R-Texas), Gov. Kristi Noem (S. D. -R) and Gov. Greg Abbott (R-Texas), will also be speaking in the meeting.
The particular NRA acknowledged the disaster in Uvalde in a statement Wednesday, saying, “ The deepest sympathies are with all the families and victims associated with this horrific and bad crime. On behalf of our associates, we salute the courage of school officials, first responders and others who offered their own support and services. ”
“ Although an investigation is underway plus facts are still emerging we recognize this was the react of a lone, deranged felony. As we gather in Houston, we will reflect on these activities, pray for the victims, identify our patriotic members, plus pledge to redouble our commitment to making our schools safe. ”
