Tx Gubernatorial candidate Robert “ Beto” O’Rourke appears to have got once again changed his track on gun control, quietly editing his campaign web site to say he no longer facilitates civilian ownership of alleged assault rifles.
The stealth modify appeared on a page focused on “ Gun Safety, ” where Beto once stated he’d like to “ reduce the number” of AR-15s plus AK-47s in the public space.
An older version of the page recorded within the Internet Archive shows it was Beto’s position as late as April 1 this year.
However , sometime in the last two months, the failed US senate candidate appears to have updated his website in order to reflect a hardline position on “ assault weaponry, ” now saying, “ I don’t believe any civilian should own an AR-15 or AK-47. ”
The quiet change is really a reversal back to an original placement for Beto expressed throughout his doomed 2020 presidential bid, where he affirmed to Americans he would definitely seize firearms if elected leader, saying, “ Hell, indeed, we’re going to take your AR-15, your own AK-47. ”
Later asked by CNN how this individual expects to “ take” all the “ assault weapons, ” Beto said he’d pass a law starting a compulsory buyback structure, but he became noticeably flustered when pressed on whether he expects bad guys to follow the law.
CNN roasted Beto and his confiscation scheme – SHOCKING, we know. They kept reminding Beto that crooks don’t follow laws and won’t turn in their guns. Beto refused to answer how he plans on undertaking his scheme. This emerged hours after Beto promised to go door-to-door. pic. twitter. com/fCa08Q4df4

Asked again in November 2021 whether he stood by his remark to come after guns, he reiterated his radical stance against firearms and the Second Variation.
“ Appearance, we are a state that has a long, proud tradition of responsible gun ownership. And most of us here in Texas do not need our friends, our family users, our neighbors shot up with these weapons of war. Therefore yes, I still keep this view, ” O’Rourke said, this time vying for that governor’s seat after having failed to defeat incumbent GOP Sen. Ted Cruz.
The stance appears to have softened some time this season, with Beto telling reporters in Tyler, Texas, within February he’s no longer “ interested” in grabbing guns and instead wants “ to make sure that [what] we do is defend the Second Amendment. ”
In the wake of the heartbreaking shooting in Uvalde, after pulling an idiotic stop in front of grieving parents, it appears Beto can’t seem to forget about his gun-grabbing roots.
