Mexican authorities say these people recovered bodies of 3 migrants from the Rio Enorme and rescued three a lot more last week.
The Nationwide Institute of Migration (INM) announced the gruesome discovery on Sunday.
“ …[T]hree bodies associated with men floating in the lake were located, two of these did not have identification and another carried documentation from Nicaragua, ” the INM exposed in a pr release on Weekend.
“ The Coahuila State Attorney General’s Workplace was informed so that it could take notice of these events. ”
Interestingly, the INM expressed condolences for the lives lost, but emphasized a “ commitment to maintain secure, orderly and regular migration in order to avoid the risks that irregular transit entails. ”
Upon Saturday, three other migrants were rescued by Mexican agents during a failed attempt to cross the dangerous water.
They were identified as an adult girl, an 8-year-old boy, as well as a 2-year-old girl, all from Honduras. It is unclear in case any of them were related.
They were brought aboard an airboat and taken to a migrant shelter in the region.
