Parents in the Los Angeles suburb protested towards a local high school’s choice to ban unvaccinated college students from walking on stage throughout its graduation ceremony.
The protests happened this week outside the Granada Hills Charter High School, which told students who have not received Covid-19 vaccines they’ll be unable to participate in the graduating event Thursday.
CBS Los Angeles reports while 99% of the student is vaccinated, some 70 college students will still not be in a position to attend the event, with The Blaze noting the unvaccinated prohibit will also apply to special requirements students.
The school released a statement claiming they stand by science, despite the fact the big event will be held outdoors.
“ Our panel stands by the science that will indicates that vaccination is the most effective and best tool available to minimize the spread of COVID-19 and ensure the safest learning environment feasible, ” the school said within a statement.
The school’s requirement furthermore remains in place “ inspite of the Los Angeles Unified School Area delaying the vaccination mandate until July 1, 2023, ” CBS Los Angeles reports.
An agent for one anti-Covid vaccine mandate organization, Parisha Fishback of Moms on a lawn , said they would look for justice for the children through the school.
“ What Granada Hills rental high school has done to the graduating seniors is egregious and unconstitutional by each state and federal standards, ” Fishback stated.
“ We will hold them responsible in every way possible. For now, we march for the kids that they will not allow to walk. ”
