A female suspect was caught after she allegedly drew a firearm and released multiple rounds while strapped to a gurney in a Tx hospital, according to reports.
The shocking incident unfolded right before noon on Tuesday within Conroe, a city regarding 40 miles north associated with Houston.
Harris County Crisis Medical Services (EMS) introduced Glendar Johnson-Jackson, 65, in order to HCA Healthcare Conroe for a “ mental health assessment and an emergency detention purchase by the Harris County Sheriff’s Office, ” ABC 13 reports.
“ Johnson-Jackson has been on a gurney in the hallway with her arms and legs secured when police say the lady retrieved a small caliber gun from an elastic waistband-type holster that was wrapped about her torso under the girl dress. ”
Johnson-Jackson allegedly fired off two rounds before an EMS employee quickly neutralized her, possibly saving innocent lives in the process, police say.
“ Among the HCEC EMS attendants took immediate action and disarmed (Johnson-Jackson), ” Conroe Law enforcement explained in a press release.
“ (Conroe PD) Chief (Jeff) Christy commends the HCEC EMT that took fast, decisive, and heroic activity in disarming Jackson since she discharged the weapon. ”
Johnson-Jackson was given a medical evaluation, arrested, and taken to Montgomery County Prison.
She was initially brought to a healthcare facility after causing a disturbance at a nearby business that prompted an employee to call the cops, the Harris County Sheriff’s Office stated.
Johnson-Jackson was reportedly charged with felony deadly carry out and a misdemeanor count of unlawful carry of weapon in a prohibited place.
No one was injured in the capturing, authorities say.
