Hillary Clinton Warns Leftists Concentrating on Transgender Issues Isn’t a good Election Winning Strategy
“Whatever will not help you win should not be important. “
Former presidential candidate Hillary Clinton has warned leftists that they should drop transgenderism as a core policy issue if they want to win long term elections.
Clinton made the comments during an interview with the Financial Times when she was asked, “ Democrats seem to be going out of their particular way to lose elections simply by elevating activist causes, particularly the transgender debate, which are relevant only to a small minority. What sense does it create to depict JK Rowling as a fascist? ”
The former Secretary associated with State said that such problems were serving as a muddiness to the priority of being successful at the ballot box.
“ We are standing on the precipice of dropping our democracy and everything that everybody else cares about then goes out the window, ” Clinton said.
“ Look, the most important thing would be to win the next election. The choice is so frightening that no matter what does not help you win should not be a priority, ” she added.
Clinton’s comments echo previous comments made last year on the same issue.
“ I think that it is a time for some careful thinking of what wins elections, and not just in deep-blue districts in which a Democrat and a liberal Democrat, or so-called progressive Liberal, is going to win, ” Clinton said at the time. “ I understand why people want to argue for their priorities. That’s what they believe they were elected to do. ”
Democratic strategist James Carville furthermore blamed Republican Glenn Youngkin’s victory last year of the left’s obsession with identity politics.
“ Exactly what went wrong is just ridiculous wokeness, ” said Carville.
“ It’s just really — has a suppressive effect all across the country on Democrats. Some of these people need to go to a ‘ woke’ detox center or something, ” he added.
Former President Barack Obama sent a similar warning back in 2019 when the girl asserted that “ wokeness” was not a successful form of activism.
“ This particular idea of purity and you aren’t never compromised and that you simply always politically woke and everything that stuff, you should get more than that quickly, ” stated Obama.
A year ago, Obama also said that cancel culture had gone too much.
“ We all don’t expect everybody in order to politically correct all the time, ” he said.
