The number of children in the United States becoming diagnosed with autism has rocketed in recent years, a new study discovers.

Researchers  Guangdong Pharmaceutical University, in  China , found that 3. 49 % of U. S. children and adolescents – or even around one-in-every-30 – got autism in 2020.

This is a sharp 52 percent rise from the second . 29 percent of young ones in America that had the problem in 2017.

While the research team failed to give an exact reason for the jump, many experts possess speculated the increase relates to parents better understanding earlier signs their child has autism and more surveillance for the problem.

Researchers, who published their particular findings Tuesday in  JAMA Pediatrics , gathered data from the annual Nationwide Health Interview Survey (NHIS).

The study, which is conducted by the Facilities for Disease Control and Prevention, conducts household selection interviews and targeted screenings to find more about the health of the average home.

In 2014, the NHIS found that 2 . 24 percent of kids and adolescents in America acquired autism.
