Uvalde Gunman Had Disturbing Previous; Carried Around Dead Kitty, Was Nicknamed “School Shooter”

Ramos told their girlfriend at the time that he would not live past the age of 18

An  temporary report   with a Texas House committee checking out the Uvalde school massacre reveals  multiple red flags  were known more than a calendar year before 18-year-old Salvador Ramoskilled 19 students and two teachers in his former fourth-grade classroom at Robb Primary.

Prior to the shooting, Ramos acquired already earned the name “ school shooter” by individuals he gamed with on-line. He also started putting on all-black clothing and making violent threats – particularly toward women, who this individual “ terrorized with graphic descriptions of violence and rape, ” according to the  Texas Tribune .

While relatives described Ramos as ‘ shy plus quiet’ and reluctant in order to interact with people due to a speech impediment, a former girlfriend evaluated by the FBI said the lady thought he had been physically assaulted at an early age by one of his mother’s boyfriends, yet that his mother did not believe him.

Ramos began falling at the rear of in school, but never received special education despite having been labeled “ at-risk. ” He was  bullied throughout the fourth grade   due to a stutter, brief haircut and clothing – which he often put on several days in a row. In one case, a girl linked his shoelaces together, leading to him to fall on his face according to a aunty.

Beginning in 2018, he was recording more than hundred absences a year,   along with failing grades. However the report authors said it was unclear whether a college resource officer ever visited his home.   By 2021, when he or she was 17 years old, he had only completed ninth quality , the report’s writers wrote.

When students started to return to school after understanding remotely during the pandemic, he or she dropped out. Instead of looking to fit in, as he had required for the past,   he grew more isolated plus retreated to the online world . Uvalde High School officials involuntarily withdrew him on Oct 28, citing “ poor academic performance and insufficient attendance. ” -Texas Tribune

Uvalde High School senior Ariana Diaz told the  Tribune   that Ramos was a “ well-known loner, ” and someone who everyone knew kept in order to himself. More recently, she states he was in a “ dark place” and began wearing all black clothes and combat boots. All those close to him said he was depressed and lonesome.

In late 2021,   Ramos shared a video online  of he and a buddy he met online generating around with a dead kitty inside a plastic bag , which he “ discarded in the street and spit upon while his driver jeered. ” The video also showed Ramos  dry firing BB guns at people .

Ramos told his girlfriend at the time that he wouldn’t live past the age of 18, either because he would commit suicide or else “ wouldn’t live long. ” After she split up with him in 2021, she told the FBI that Ramos began harassing her and her close friends.

In one Instagram exchange, Ramos – exactly who went by the username “ TheBiggestOpp , ” sent a girl a picture of a gun.

In another exchange, a 16-year-old woman who said she fulfilled Ramos in February stated he replied to a meme she’d posted that referenced a weapon, saying “ personally I wouldn’t use a AK-47, ” rather “ a better gun. ”

He was also in to gore and violent sex  based on his on the internet history – and might sometimes share images of suicides and beheadings. When playing games online, he would  become enraged and threaten others   – particularly female players, when he lost.

Independently, he wrote about their challenges connecting with other people or feeling empathy for them, saying he was “ not human. ” His search history, the authors of the report wrote, suggests he was wondering whether he was a sociopath. His web searches led to him receiving an email about obtaining emotional treatment for the condition.

Attacking women became a pattern.   He or she was also fired from their job at a Whataburger following a month for threatening a female coworker. And later he was let go of his job at Wendy’s. -Texas Tribune

“ He gave me this kind of odd vibe, ” 17-year-old Crystal Foutz, an Uvalde High School junior, told the  Wall Street Journal , including “ He always seemed scary. ”

Ramos posted pictures on Instagram associated with him cutting himself, with blood in a sink, Microsoft. Vasquez said. Earlier this year, the lady said, he showed up in order to school one day with a mask on, and when he got it off, his face had scars and scratches that he said he had inflicted on himself.

Ramos’ mom, Adriana Reyes, said a week ago that the 18-year-old “ was not a monster, ” yet could become “ intense. ”

“ Sometimes I had an uncomfortable sensation, like ‘ what are a person doing? ‘, ” the lady told  ABC , adding “ He could become aggressive if he got really angry.   (… ). We all have rabies, but some people convey more than others. ”

Nothing was reported

Despite Ramos’ disturbing threats and violent postings,   nobody reported his online behavior to police force .

Two months prior to the shooting, Ramos posted an Instagram story in which he screamed at his mother while she was in the process of kicking him away from home, according to the  Wa Post . He furthermore told an older cousin which he didn’t want to live any longer, but the cousin told specialists that they had a “ heart-to-heart” in which she thought she would gotten through to him.

Instead, Ramos continued a buying spree when he turned 18 on May 16, buying 2 AR-15 style rifles, thousands of rounds of ammunition, plus 60 30-round magazines. Given that he had no criminal record, nor had ever been arrested, there is nothing which showed up within a background check to prevent him from acquiring the weapons.

Countdown to the shooting

After he armed up, Ramos began referencing a timeline which foreshadowed his plans.

On April 2, he sent somebody a direct message on Instagram, “ Are you nevertheless gonna remember me in 50 something days?

The person responded, “ probably not. ”

Hmm alright we’ll observe in may , ” he or she responded.

At least one friend from out of town started to become worried and proposed visiting him in Uvalde. But when the friend said this individual wouldn’t be able to go until July or August, he or she said   “ damn that’s too late. ”

Five days before he went on a rampage at the elementary school, a man targeted and killed 10 Black people in a Buffalo, N. Y. supermarket.   The mass capturing didn’t go unnoticed by the 18-year-old . He stored news stories and other information regarding it. He also spent time with a cousin’s boy who went to Robb Primary to get information about his routine and lunch periods, officials reported.

On the eve of the shooting, he sent out messages to people about something he was going to do the next day.   -Texas Tribune

Ten days prior to the shooting, he wrote  “ 10 more days, ”   according to the Texas official. Another person replied: “ Are you going to shoot up a school or something? ” to which Ramos replied: “ No, stop asking dumb questions.   You will see . ”
