Photos: Sailboat Packed With Nearly 200 Illegals Runs Aground Close to Miami

Dilapidated boat overloaded with thought Haitian migrants reaches California waters

A sailboat carrying upwards of 200 illegal migrants ran aground in South Florida this week, based on reports .

The shocking incident unfolded upon Thursday morning in seas near Boca Chita Type in Miami-Dade County.

A concerned boater notified authorities about the vessel, which was overflowing with more than 150 travellers believed to be from Haiti, Local 10 reports.

The U. S. Coastline Guard (USCG), Miami-Dade Law enforcement, Miami-Dade Fire and Save, Florida Fish & Animals, and Customs and Border Protection all responded to the particular scene.

“ Currently, people are on the ship safe & not within the water. We are asking mariners to stay clear of the area with regard to safety concerns, ” USCG announced at around 11: 30 a. m.

“ USCG plus partner agencies’ crews are carefully transferring people from your overloaded and unsafe cruising vessel and transporting them to Coast Guard cutter crews for future repatriation for their country of origin. ”

Four of the boat passengers were apparently hospitalized.

While the total number associated with migrants found aboard continues to be unclear, initial reports indicated it could have been over two hundred.

More than 5, 000 Haitians  were interdicted   by Coast Safeguard crews during the first 8 months of Fiscal 12 months 2022, and border realtors “ responded to 116 migrant landings in Florida along with nearly 1600 encounters” during the same period.


The revolution will not be televised .
