Last week’s arrest of 17 members of Congress during a good abortion rights demonstration outside of the Supreme Court – which usually notably included Reps. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) and Ilhan Omar (D-MN) pretending these were in handcuffs – was coordinated with a progressive dark-money group funded by billionaire George Soros.
Since the Wa Examiner ‘ s Andrew Kerr reviews, “ Getting arrested was your whole point of the stop, Ocasio-Cortez said in an Instagram post on Tuesday. She said organizers of the Center for Popular Democracy (CPD) Actions Fund asked her plus her colleagues to “ submit themselves for arrest in front of the Supreme Court. ” ”
Approximately 30 minutes before congress arrived at the USSC, Omar spokesman Jeremy Slevin stated the quiet part aloud – tweeting “ Associates of Congress, including [Omar] will be taking part in a civil disobedience on the Supreme Court, potentially including arrests , shortly. ”
Meanwhile, CPD Action co-executive director, Andrew Friedman, informed the Washington Post in 2018 that they, plus their sister organization, Center for Popular Democracy – which coordinated with the lawmakers, had received over $1,000,000 per year from Soros Open up Society Foundations .
CPD Action published on Facebook Tuesday, saying its leaders were one of the 18 non-lawmakers who were imprisoned.

CPD Action associated with a fundraising web page in its Fb post that urged active supporters and workers to “ continue functions of civil disobedience, ” such as the a single it coordinated with the 17 arrested members of Our elected representatives on Tuesday, to secure access to abortion across the country.
Ocasio-Cortez had been widely mocked by traditional commentators for creating the impact that she was handcuffed by police during her arrest. The New York lawmaker was filmed crossing her hands behind her back again while she was being escorted off the scene by law enforcement. She then pumped her fist toward a crowd of supporters while still detained by police.
Ocasio-Cortez insisted the lady wasn’t pretending to be in handcuffs during her arrest.
“ No faking here, ” Ocasio-Cortez said inside a tweet on Wednesday. “ Putting your hands behind your back is a best practice while detained, handcuffed or not, to avoid escalating charges like fighting off arrest. But given the way you lied about a fellow rape survivor for ‘ factors, ‘ as you put it in my opinion, I don’t expect much else from you. ”
The Capitol Police spokesperson told the Washington Examiner that nobody arrested outside the Supreme Court on Tuesday has been handcuffed.
