A police officer shot and killed a pit half truths that was attacking him within Alabama last week, according to reports.
The disturbing incident unfolded at around 7: 00 p. m. on July 19 in Hanceville, the city in Cullman County.
Authorities were called about a “ vicious… pit half truths breed dog” that experienced allegedly injured another canine in the neighborhood and also tried to attack its owners.
Responding officers observed that the complainants’ dog appeared to be wounded plus sought out the offending animal.
“ This investigation directed them to a nearby home where they observed Shannon Michelle Cooper with a whitened pit bull on a teather. As officers attempted to speak with Ms. Cooper, the dog had been freed from the leash and immediately attacked one of the officers on scene, ” the particular Hanceville Police Department (HPD) explained in a statement .
“ Since the dog bit the official several times in the lower leg, the officer drew his weapon and discharged one particular round, killing it. ”
Bodycam footage of the attack was released by HPD.
The officer was taken to Cullman Regional Medical Center and dealt with for “ severe attacks and puncture wounds. ”
The pit bull’s proprietor, Shannon Michelle Cooper, reportedly could not provide proof of rabies vaccinations so the animal’s remains were brought to a vet for testing.
Cooper has been arrested and charged with Allowing a Vicious Canine to Run at Large, Non-Control of a Dangerous Dog, Reckless Endangerment, and Assault 3rd Diploma.
