The big event, called “ Models of Pride, ” was hosted with the Los Angeles LGBT Center plus was intended for those twenty-four years and younger. No minimum age was listed on the site . The Los Angeles LGBT Center described it because “ the world’s biggest free conference for LGBTQ+ youth and their allies. ”
The big event featured a performance through drag performer Dew Una Moore and was hosted by “ Mayhem Callier, ” who previously made an appearance on RuPaul’s Drag Race. Miller told the crowd of children “ When I was young, we all didn’t have anything such as this. You are going to change our long term and I love every single one of you. ” The event reportedly attracted roughly four hundred attendees, including both children and their parents.
Models of Pride furthermore hosted breakout workshop periods, including one titled “ Drag Isn’t a Race” that focused on “ learning a brief history of drag and taking first steps of becoming a fabulous drag performer. ”
A workshop entitled “ Where Do You Slot in? ” explored the “ LGBTQ+ community’s subcultures” to be able to “ find your chosen neighborhood. ”
