Former President Donald Trump excoriated Sen. Mitch McConnell (R-Ky. ) for casting doubt on whether Conservatives can flip the United states senate in the November midterm elections.
Trump took to his social media platform Truth Social late Sunday to push back against McConnell’s remarks.
“ Why do Conservatives Senators allow a separated hack politician, Mitch McConnell, to openly disparage hard working Republican candidates for your United States Senate. This is such an affront to honor and to management. He should spend more time (and money! ) helping all of them get elected, and less time helping his crazy spouse and family get wealthy on China! ”
McConnell, the Senate Minority Leader, had stated that Republicans have a much better likelihood of flipping the House rather than the Senate, in part due to “ candidate quality. ”
“ I think there’s probably a greater likelihood the home flips than the Senate. United states senate races are just different. They may statewide. Candidate quality includes a lot to do with the outcome, ” McConnell told the North Kentucky Chamber of Commerce on Thursday.
Sen. McConnell: “Senate races are just different… applicant quality has a lot regarding the outcome. ”
