Argentina VP targeted in obvious assassination attempt (VIDEO)

Dramatic video clip captured the moment an enemy aimed a pistol directly at Cristina Fernandez sobre Kirchner’s head

Argentina’s Vice President Cristina Fernandez de Kirchner  was threatened by an armed person near her house in Buenos Aires, with a gunman seen pointing the firearm at the VP’s encounter before she was taken away to safety. Simply no shots were fired and the official was not injured.

The apparent attempt on Fernandez de Kirchner’s life was captured on camera by local news crews on Thurs night as the VP made her way through a bustling crowd near her home, which had gathered to demonstrate support amid an ongoing data corruption trial.

A hand wielding a gun is briefly seen in front of Fernandez de Kirchner, who quickly ducks taken care of following what appears to be the loud click. Some reviews suggested the weapon misfired, but it’s unclear from your footage whether the person really tried to pull the induce.

An individual had been arrested on the spot and a firearm was found by police several meters away, according to local media reports, which claimed the attacker is really a 35-year-old Brazilian national. Authorities have yet to confirm information about the perpetrator, however.  

Law enforcement sources  told   Argentina’s Clarin media outlet the man has been carrying a. 380 caliber pistol with a loaded magazine, while the Minister of Safety Anibal Fernandez noted the suspect has a criminal history and was last arrested in March.

Economy Minister Sergio Massa was among the first officials to react to the occurrence, taking to Twitter to denounce the attack.

“ Whenever hate and violence prevail over the debate of ideas, they destroy societies plus generate situations like all of us: an assassination attempt, ”   he  wrote , declaring his  “ solidarity”   with the VP and her family while voicing hope that the assailant is definitely brought to justice.

Fernandez de Kirchner, exactly who served as Argentina’s president between 2007 and 2015, is currently facing corruption costs over an alleged plan to funnel state funds to a family friend through public contracts. Though the business lead prosecutor on the case recently asked a federal court at hand the former head of state  a 12-year prison phrase, the VP has vocally denied the allegations and claims she has been focused for political persecution.
