A New York City assistant principal boasted about deliberately discriminating towards new hires based on their political views in undercover video released by Project Veritas on Tuesday.
In Part 3 of Veritas’ “ Secret Curriculum” series, Todd Soper, who works as a good Assistant Principal for the Nyc Department of Education managing charter schools for marks K-4, was recorded discussing how he rejects conservative hires because of their beliefs.
Veritas Journalist: What would you do though, like a principal, if you knew there is a conservative applying? Do you hire such a person?
Soper: No… We have very specific questions, and ultimately our Diversity-Equity-Inclusion question, our DEI issue is — it’s very informing if somebody has done plenty of work within themself, within the profession.
Veritas Journalist: But actually conservative, like even–
Soper: Nicely, and it comes out — in the event that people don’t answer that will question right, they are just an automatic not hire.
For example, Soper said any potential hire who judges individuals based on character and not skin color is rejected for not embracing “ diversity. ”
“ If they [candidates] say that diversity is about — if they say something that lends itself to be colorblind, which could happen, like, ‘ Oh, it’s like, you understand, like everyone is equal. ‘ Those things that are well intentioned statements, but they’re lacking the depth of understanding of how the intersections of our identification live out in the world. So , that person wouldn’t get hired, ” Soper explained.
In another example, Soper explained how one teacher was driven out of training at his particular school district for refusing in order to push Black Lives Matter propaganda and refusing in order to acknowledge students based on the “ color of their skin. ”
“ Therefore , there’s this one teacher that almost refused to talk about Juneteenth a few years ago, and did not want to teach a lesson, ” Soper said. “ Like, in addition to their neurodiversity and their special needs, like our students’ lifestyles matter based on the color of their own skin, and how that intertwines into the context of the world. So , if you’re not prepared to embrace fully that element of our students — which means talking openly regarding race and talking about injustices in the world, then I don’t know if you’re going to be able to fully fulfill your [teacher] responsibilities. ”
Soper added the teacher “ would’ve probably been fired eventually just based from mindset. ”
Soper also described just how he pushes gender ideology onto K-4 students from his schools.
“ We have always and will continue to embrace diversity on all levels. So , exactly the same way we embrace identities that are based off of ethnicity, skin tone and gender, we all also embrace orientation, ” Soper said.
“ Like for pre-school, for Pride month, we all got — every kid had a mirror and we discussed — a read aloud about an animal, or in regards to a boy that said he wanted to be a mermaid. It’s a way to start, like, ‘ You need to be whoever you feel like you needs to be. ‘ That was kind of the particular message of [the] read aloud, ” he said.
“ It’s delicate, correct? So , in kindergarten and first grade, they [students] are five and six [years old] — but I think we start with the coverage theme of, ‘ Embrace who you are. You have to love you, and each part of you is usually beautiful, whatever you feel. ‘ As kids get older and the idea of gender becomes a lot more salient, which happens more towards fourth grade… the particular conversations deepen as the children get older. ”
Project Veritas’ ongoing Key Curriculum series has so far exposed two other educators bragging about injecting the far-left radical agenda within their schools and taking aches to ensure conservatives are barred from educating children.
