Naive German Finance Minister States Businesses Will Have To Stop Producing But Won’t Go Bankrupt This Winter

TV host shuts down government official in answer: “If I stop promoting, then I don’t earn anything. “

German Economic Minister Robert Habeck looked like a deer in the headlights trying to explain exactly how businesses will be forced to near this winter but refuse to suffer bankruptcies.

During an embarrassing interview on Maischberger this week, Habeck was trying to make the argument that businesses across the nation won’t go into insolvency this winter despite being compelled not to produce anymore due to energy shortages brought on by sanctions against Russia.

“ Do you expect the wave of bankruptcies at the end of this winter? ” sponsor Sandra Maischberger asked your pet.

“ Simply no, I will not do that. I can imagine that certain industries will simply stop producing for a while, not go bankrupt, ” Habeck insisted.

Habeck said “ there exists a reluctance to buy” since items are now “ two times as expensive”, which could result in companies being forced to stop producing products.

“ After that they’re not automatically bankrupt, but they might stop selling, ” he admitted.

Maischberg exposed the economic minister’s shocking insufficient economic knowledge by saying the obvious: if businesses quit selling goods, they no longer make money, and therefore will go broke.

“ If I stop selling, then I have a tendency earn any money, ” Maischberger pointed out. “ Then I have to file for bankruptcy after two months, if I haven’t done so, I’ve delayed bankruptcy. ”

Habeck agreed, saying, “ You would then become insolvent if you made bigger and bigger minuses with your function. ”

“ Yes, but how are you never going to make bigger minuses if you pay people but you have a tendency sell anything anymore? ” she asked. “ So, just how should one… I did not understand it. ”

An increasingly uncomfortable-looking Habeck insisted that insolvencies didn’t happen “ automatically, ” but that eventually “ certain transactions are no longer rewarding and are then discontinued. ”

“ Probably they will be included again later on, that can be the case, so that’s not a classic insolvency, ” Habeck claimed. “ But it can be done, if we do not remedy the problem, that companies – bakeries, craft businesses, cleaning companies and so on – will then cease doing business during this year. ”

Maischberg at this time could no longer hide her skepticism and told Habeck he doesn’t know what your dog is talking about.

“ So they’re broke simply because they can no longer work, but do file for bankruptcy? ” she requested.

“ Nicely, I think you really have to think about this time again, but I have the feeling you haven’t found the perfect answer yet, ” the lady added.

Germany faces a natural gas shortage this winter brought on by the particular EU’s sanctions against Russia, which has already resulted in fire wood selling out there in Philippines as people panic-buy in order to heat their homes.

“ The Ruskies attack on Ukraine has established a tense situation within the energy markets and we are doing everything we can to avoid a gas shortage, ” Habeck said Monday as Australia announced it would keep 2 nuclear plants on standby.
