A unique master has been appointed to do something as a firewall between the Proper rights Department and materials seized during an Aug. 7 raid on former Leader Trump’s Mar-a-Lago residence in Palm Beach, Florida.
In a pair of Thursday orders from federal district Determine Aileen Cannon, the DOJ’s motion to get into a subset of categorized records saved on the Trump property was denied , along with a recently retired judge that will both the DOJ and Trump’s team agreed on – recently retired Judge Raymond Dearie – will serve as exclusive master.
Raymond has until Nov. thirty, 2022 to complete his review .
Cannon struck throughout the DOJ’s request for a partial stay of an earlier movement on accessing the grabbed materials, after lawyers for your government argued that they should review over 100 considered documents taken during the rezzou – as they are not have any claims of personal assets or executive privilege.
That said, Cannon on the sides with a DOJ request for Trump to pay the full cost of a special master.
“ If the legal were willing to accept the exact government’s representations that find portions of the seized products are— without exception— government property not subject to just about any privileges, and did not consider a special master would fulfill a meaningful purpose, your court would have denied plaintiff’s special master request , ” wrote Cannon. “ The court does not realize it appropriate to accept the government’s conclusions on these significant and disputed issues free of further review by a fairly neutral third party in an expedited plus orderly fashion. ”
