Ca Bans Natural Gas Furnaces, Hot water heaters

Generous state becomes first within nation to enact revolutionary new green energy policy in name of ending climate change.

The state of Ca is banning the sale for natural gas furnaces and water heaters by the year 2030 with the intention of its anti-fossil fuel green energy agenda.

On Friday, the California Air Resources Table voted to enact the particular policy, which will phase away sales of gas heaters and furnaces in favor of electric powered ones in purported initiatives to combat climate change.

Environmental counsel Leah Louis Prescott stated the move would ultimately lead to cleaner air regarding Californians by reducing exhausts, pollution and smog.

“ Together furnaces and water heaters typically that will run on gas account for 90% of gas use in the average California household. So simply eliminating these two sources of air pollution is going to be a big win for our air quality and our health as well as for addressing climate change, ” Prescott stated, according to Fox 5 San Diego .

“ We’re really hopeful that this is the beginning of a domino effect and other states will follow California’s lead, ” the lady said , adding, “ I do think a lot more states are going to be following in California’s footsteps and looking at this as an opportunity to slow up the pollution in our homes plus businesses. ”

The radical move comes amid a slate of other carbon-cutting “ green” policies, with the california’s Air Resource Board announcing last month it aimed to prohibit the sale of gasoline-powered vehicles incrementally within the coming years, with a goal of 100% of new automobiles sold to be electric simply by 2035.

Leftist politicians in the Golden State also earlier this year enacted a ban on “ small rough-road engines, ” referring to engines in gasoline-powered lawn mowers and leaf blowers, using a goal of eliminating gas-powered lawn equipment sales after 2024.

A proposal floated earlier this week by the Air Resources Panel also wants to phase out semi-trucks that will run on diesel by 2040.

Meanwhile, the Los Angeles Town Council flushed a resolution last May banning gas appliances from being installed within new homes and companies, and instead requiring electric powered stoves, clothes dryers, furnaces and water heaters.

As admitted by Bloomberg News , California’s latest policy affecting furnaces and water heaters may have little to no effect on the state’s carbon result.

“ Given that California still gets regarding 40% of its power from fossil fuels, the transition will not eliminate carbon emissions, ” Bloomberg reports.

And California will never “ eliminate carbon emissions” unless of course the state plans to run totally fully on unreliable breeze, solar, or water energy, each of which carry several other risks to the environment.

Just where really does the Air Resources Board think the state will produce the power to power electric lawn mowers, stoves, water heaters and cars?
