One slain, 11 injured as suspected smuggler flees Texas police

A terrible crash left at least one person dead when a suspected human being smuggler attempted to elude Tx police this week, according to regulators.

The particular incident unfolded on Wednesday in La Joya, a city near McAllen within Hidalgo County.

A pickup truck carrying twelve occupants fled from Tx Department of Public Security (TxDPS) troopers at a higher rate of speed before wrecking on a dirt street.

“ TxDPS is investigating a single vehicle fatal crash in Una Joya, ” TxDPS speaker Lt. Chris Olivarez explained on social media. “ Driver to a Ford truck evaded from law enforcement after disregarding a red light. Because of excessive speed & recklessness the driver crashed & rolled over on a dirt street – 12 occupants ejected & 1 deceased. ”

“ TxDPS is the lead investigating agency & suspect human smuggling. 11 occupants including the motorist have been transported to the hospital. More details to come. This is nevertheless an active investigation. ”

Lt. Olivarez initially included an image of a passenger who was possibly seriously injured or deceased but later deleted the post.

However , Fox News correspondent Bill Melugin retweeted the original blog post prior to removal.

Melugin shared additional videos and photos from the border crisis on Wednesday, including video footage of a group of illegal aliens wandering down a Tx highway with no authorities to be seen.
