CNN Calls Freedom of Speech ‘Nonsense’ in Rant Accusing Elon Musk Of Being Russian Asset

CIA officer pushes talking point that Twitter will end up “vehicle” for Russian govt to push propaganda to prevent arming Ukraine.

CNN peddled more fake news compared to usual on Friday any time a former CIA agent arrested Elon Musk of working on Russia’s behalf by freeing up Twitter, calling totally free speech “ nonsense. ”

Previous CIA case officer Frank Baer condemned Musk’s recent decision to grant “ general amnesty” to formerly banned accounts, claiming that’s exactly what Russian President Vladimir Putin wants.

“ Putin is going to be throughout Twitter if there’s no regulations on this, fake accounts, spoofed accounts… And so when he’s talking about the popular voice, Musk, he’s really talking about Ruskies intelligence, ” Baer stated.

“ The particular Russians are waiting for something similar to this. They need a propaganda campaign against the United States plus against our support pertaining to Ukraine, ” he continued, adding that they’ll somehow make use of Twitter to convince Americans to “ stop arming Ukraine. ”

Baer then called independence of speech “ rubbish, ” claiming allowing customers to express their opinions may be the equivalent to yelling “ fire” in a crowded theater.

“ It’s not correct. And you know, this freedom of speech is just nonsense because you can’t go into a show theater and yell ‘ fire. ‘ It’s outlawed. What Putin is going to do and the Russians is they’re going to make use of this as a vehicle to save themself in Ukraine, ” he or she said.

“ We’re gonna observe, as soon as these restrictions come off, we’re gonna see the Russians all over it, ” he or she added.

Particularly, Baer’s talking point that yelling “ fire” in the crowded theater being illegal is false. The 1969 Brandenburg v. Ohio case found such activity is definitely protected by the First Change.

“ This particular old canard, a favorite research of censorship apologists, needs to be retired. It’s repeatedly plus inappropriately used to justify conversation limitations, ” said Basis for Individual Rights plus Expression President Greg Lukianoff in 2021.

Prohibitions of free speech are usually constitutionally limited to direct incitement of violence and legally-provable defamation — that’s this.

But that will little detail won’t prevent CNN or other mainstream media outlets from making the argument that the 1st Amendment is a danger in order to national security.
