Edge Patrol Agent Dies within ATV Crash While Pursuing Illegals in Texas
Father associated with two ‘crashed his ATV into a gate while running after a group of illegal immigrants at high speed, ‘ according to reports
A Border Patrol real estate agent was killed in a accident while pursuing a group of unlawful aliens in South Tx this week, authorities say.
The occurrence unfolded at approximately one a. m. on Wed near Mission, TX.
The agent, who had been assigned to McAllen Station in the Rio Grande Valley Sector, was “ tracking a group of subjects that illegally crossed the border” when he crashed his all-terrain vehicle (ATV), Border Patrol explained in a statement.
Fellow agents found him unresponsive at the scene and he was rushed to hospital, where he was later noticable dead.
“ Multiple federal sources tell me a 38-year-old Border Patrol agent was killed within Mission, TX in the RGV early this morning after this individual crashed his ATV right into a gate while chasing several illegal immigrants at broadband. I’m told he was a father of two children, ” Fox News reporter Bill Melugin reported on Wednesday.
The tragedy comes among a slew of current deaths in the ranks of border agencies.
Last month, a Customs and Border Protection Marine Interdiction agent was killed during a shootout with medication runners near Puerto Rico.
Also within November, at least three Border Patrol agents took their own lives in a span associated with three weeks.
