Variety DELETES Tweet After Jennifer Lawerence Roasted for Inaccurately Claiming ‘Hunger Games’ Had First Female Action Direct
Lawrence’s failed attempt to redo history received stern rebuke online.
A tweet from Variety magazine in which celebrity Jennifer Lawrence claimed her movie Craving for food Games was the first time anyone cast a lady lead in an action role was scrapped after the web told her how ubiquitously incorrect she was.
The now-deleted tweet ( archived ) quoted Lawrence claiming, “ I remember when I had been doing Hunger Games , nobody got ever put a woman within the lead of an action film. ”
The lady continued, “ We were told girls and boys can both identify with a male lead, but boys cannot identify with a female lead. ”
As can be seen in a screen capture of the deleted tweet, it was ratioed out of existence, with many people commenting to the air-headed thespian she was ignoring multiple top action actresses such as Sigourney Weaver, Uma Thurman, Linda Hamilton, Pam Grier and more.

Her failed attempt to provide feminism into her dialogue with “ The Woman King” actress Viola Davis was also featured in a Variety content discussing “ Female Activity Heroes, Motherhood and Push Tours Ruining Acting. ”

How is it feasible that one of America’s top actresses is completely ignorant of female colleagues in the industry?
