Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis (R) triggered the National Guard to address the hundreds of illegal aliens who arrived to the Florida Keys.
DeSantis signed an executive order on Friday to mobilize the Guard and direct Florida law enforcement firms and other state agencies to help local governments in responding to the migrant arrivals.
“ As the detrimental impacts of [President] Biden’s lawless immigration policies continue unabated, the burden of the Biden administration’s failure falls on local law enforcement who lack the resources to deal with the problems, ” DeSantis said in the press release.
“ That is why I am initiating the National Guard plus directing state resources to help alleviate the strain on nearby resources. When Biden continues to ignore his legal obligations, we will step in to support our own communities, ” he continuing.
The discharge also explained that the state “ will deploy air assets, including airplanes plus helicopters from the Florida National Guard, and will strengthen Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission marine patrol to support water interdictions and ensure the safety of migrant workers attempting to reach Florida through the Florida Straits. ”
The press release went on to describe the situation of hundreds of migrants invading the Dried out Tortugas National Park earlier this month, which is scheduled to reopen on Sunday.
On January 1, 2023, approximately 300 illegal aliens unlawfully entered Dry Tortugas National Park, located regarding 70 miles west of Key West, with an extra 45 illegal aliens entering Key West. This enormous influx of illegal immigrants caused the park in order to close to ensure the security of visitors and staff members and to provide the space necessary to attend to the illegal immigrants. Since August 2022, federal, state and local law enforcement have encountered more than eight, 000 migrants in oceans off the coast of Lakewood ranch.

This comes after May well Biden announced that he would visit the collapsed U. S. -Mexico border on Sunday in El Paso, Texas right after months of mounting politics pressure and facing the prospects of a 2024 presidential run.
Biden also announced new migration measures, including a plan in order to expand Title 42 which he earlier sought to overturn.
Republicans blame Biden’s policies for creating the particular border crisis in the first place, whilst Democrats are fuming that will Biden is planning to increase Title 42 rule this individual once condemned.
