Top FBI ‘Russiagate’ Official Had taken Secret Payments From Ruskies Oligarch, DOJ Says

Federal prosecutors throughout Manhattan charged Charles McGonigal, former special agent responsible for the FBI’s New York counterintelligence desk, with taking answer payments from Oleg Versus. Deripaska in violation amongst us sanctions.

Deripaska – which violated US sanctions by agreeing to assist the Russian billionaire, who himself was indicted a year ago on sanctions charges. McGonical notably retired in 2018.

During his days in counterintelligence, McGonical was responsible for supervising plus participating in investigations of Ruskies oligarchs, including Deripaska.

The indictment unsealed in Federal District Court in New york on Monday charges the previous F. B. I. formal, Mr. McGonigal, with a single count of violating Oughout. S. sanctions, one rely of money laundering and 2 conspiracy counts. – NY Times

Former co-workers who worked closely with McGonigal were reportedly ‘ shocked’ at his criminal arrest.
