“ Not only will this particular [cold snap] provide several waves of bitterly cold air to the Reduced 48 [US states] during the first week associated with February, which notably can spike heating demand, but it could also produce more gasoline well freeze-offs in Texas, Louisiana, and portions from the Appalachian region, ” Gelber & Associates, a Houston-based energy markets trading company, wrote in a note to clients.

The latest round of winter plus news of Freeport LNG seeking  approval to restart operations   could be enough in order to rebound NatGas futures right after months of heavy loss.

Nevertheless , “ this late within the withdrawal season, gas marketplace bears contend that, regardless of how intense an Arctic break out may be, gas inventories could be more than adequate to meet the demand for the remainder of the winter, ” Gelber& Associates added. This might limit upside for NatGas prices in case a rebound is seen.
