In one of the smartest political marketing judo moves ever, Donald Trump’s 2024 re-election team has turned footage of the former president’s historic indictment into an epic campaign video.
The video features high-definition footage of the 45th president arriving for an arraignment at a courthouse in his home town of New York City earlier this week, facing bogus allegations brought on by a politically-motivated Soros-funded district attorney.
“The only crime that I have committed is to fearlessly defend our nation from those who seek to destroy it,” says a voice-over by the former president, excerpted from his post-arraignment speech at Mar-a-Lago.
“And now, these radical left lunatics want to interfere with our elections by using law enforcement. We won’t let that happen.”
Far from hampering his re-election prospects, Trump’s courtroom drama, made all the more amusing by its laughably spurious allegations, has generated far more buzz and interest than any traditional advertising campaign could ever have achieved, and has served to further iconify the former president in the eyes of the nation — most likely the exact opposite effect Democrats intended.
